Join us in learning more about the historic site, Bacon's Castle. Carol Wiedel, Site Coordinator for Bacon's Castle and longtime resident of Surry, will discuss its rich history.

Bacon's Castle is the oldest standing brick house in British North America and is one of only three examples of 17th Century Jacobean Architecture in the Western Hemisphere. It has 352 years of fascinating history. Its age, architecture, resident families and workers, and Bacon's Rebellion, all weave an amazing story about Bacon's Castle.

This Afternoon Conversations session is brought to you by Suffolk Public Library and takes place at the Phillips-Dawson House, home of the Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society.
