Saboteurs Café a Pub Trivia Night: Literary Rebels

Saboteurs Café a Pub Trivia Night: Literary Rebels

On this date, we bring you a Pub Trivia Night for adults focused on banned books and literary rebels. Teams will compete in this literary themed trivia, as well as have the opportunity to enter a costume contest for the best dressed banned book character or author. Prizes awarded for trivia winners and best dressed! Limit 6 players per team. Trivia will be hosted by Brick and Mortar Brewing Company 212 E. Washington St. Suffolk, VA.

In honor of Banned Books Week, The Suffolk Public Library will have a week long focus titled, Banning Books Silencing Stories: Alt Rebels. This project will be aimed to educate the public about intellectual freedom and censorship issues during Banned Books Week (BBW). The  project is designed to get people thinking about how things would be if banning books was a normal everyday occurrence and libraries were forced to be radicals and bibliophiles; rebels. During BBW, SPL will explore and focus on banned books as seen through the lens of an alternative universe scenario where books are banned everywhere and ideas are dangerous and host an assortment of Banned Books awareness activities and programs for everyone to participate in throughout the week.

SPL events are free to attend and open to people of all abilities. If you or someone in your party will require accommodations in order to participate, please contact Angela at amartin@suffolkva.us. You do not need to be a library member in order to attend.
