ESL Classes: Basics and Beyond

Improve your language skills at the library! Join us for lessons in English as a Second Language in a fun and welcoming environment.

ESL Basics: This class for beginners will focus on helping students grow their vocabulary, become familiar with pronunciation and basic English language skills, and increase comfort communicating in English.

ESL Skills: This class builds on the language skills gained in ESL Basics and focuses on basic grammar, listening, and speaking skills.

Students are welcome to bring their children to join in a library-led children's activity during class time. Student placement in class is dependent on completion of a placement test administered their first day of attendance.

SPL events are free to attend and open to people of all abilities. If you or someone in your party will require accommodations in order to participate, please call 757-514-7323 and ask to speak with a manager. You do not need to be a library member in order to attend.
