Black & Super: African American History in Comics
Join us for our 2nd annual celebration of black superheroes and African American comic creators! Black and Super is a day filled with super-heroics, fun and activities for all ages. Throughout the day we will have story-time, games, activities, prizes, vendors and more. Don't forget to enter our 'Everyone is Super' contest for your chance to win amazing prizes! So grab your cape and get ready for a super fun day!

12pm Comics Workshop with Comic Creator Gerald Fauntroy
1pm Heroes in Real Life Q/A Panel with Local Entrepreneurs and Civil Servants (They will discuss their careers, inspirations and share advice with the community)
Everyone is Super Contest
See yourself as a superhero! Create an original super identity and tell us about your powers and backstory. A submission form will be available with space for your original artwork and backstory beginning January 2, 2020 at all Suffolk Public Library locations and it will also available to download. *Entries due to any Suffolk Public Library location by February 8, 2020. Winners will receive a prize at the event. For ages 18 and under.
